Technical features

Vacuum is normally generated by a vacuum pump unit. The vacuum is measured by a sensor transmitter in the cyclone and controlled by an automation logic system.

The vacuum is created in the pipeline prior to the vacuum conveying, when a discharge is requested at a feeding station. When a vacuum of 250 mbars is reached, the feeding station opens a gate valve and the food waste is conveyed all the way to the vacuum cyclone. The food waste remains in the cyclone while the air is rejected from the top of the cyclone, separating the food waste and the air.

Systems are installed as two line systems, each of which features a vacuum station including a cyclone and vacuum pump units. Cross connection is provided between the two vacuum stations.

Food waste in-feed stations are freestanding. They are manufactured completely of stainless steel and come with all necessary fittings housed in a suitable framework. The hopper is connected to the vacuum collecting system and welded to the tabletop. The tabletop is equipped with a drain sieve and an overflow to limit the amount of free flowing water in the collecting system.

Cleaning nozzles are installed on each hopper. The volume of the hopper is approximately 30 litres, and it has an upper diameter of 500 mm. The piping for collecting the food waste from the feeding stations is DN150. The unit connects to the vacuum pipeline using a DN125 quick clamp connection and can be isolated for maintenance.
